Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide administrative support to the Head of MBBCh 1&2 and E-Learning, in addition to other specified tasks outlined below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, report and proposal preparation, meeting scheduling, and communication with students.
  • Attendance and minute-taking during curriculum meetings, as well as coordinating logistics and document distribution.
  • Course administration, including managing learning systems, booking venues, preparing exams, communicating with students, and maintaining records.
  • Gathering data for student full-time teaching equivalent (FTE) allocation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric qualification
  • Post-matric qualification in Administration or Health Sciences
  • Two years of relevant administrative experience or Postgraduate Experience in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Wits
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, particularly in Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the higher education student experience is advantageous


  • Initiative, planning, and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Positive work attitude and ability to meet deadlines
