Amahlathi Local Municipality LGSETA Funded Internship and Learnership Programme 2024/2025

The Amahlathi Local Municipality, a Category B (Grade 3) municipality established under the Municipal Structures Act, invites South African youth to apply for the LGSETA Funded Internship and Learnership Programme for a 12-month contract period (2024/2025).

About the Programme: The programme aims to provide experiential training and studies to Thirty-Eight (38) youth with a minimum of Grade 12 up to a National Diploma and Bachelor’s degree. Participants will gain valuable skills and knowledge in various departments within the municipality.

Internship Programme X08:

  • LGSETA Salary: R 78,000 per annum (12-month contract)

Learnership Programme X30:

  • Mandatory class attendance for NC Environmental Practice at NQF L2

Departments and Required Qualifications: Corporate Services:

  • Required Qualification: Information Technology (National Diploma)
  • Allocation: 1

Engineering Services:

  • Required Qualification: Civil Engineering (National Diploma)
  • Allocation: 6

Community Services:

  • Required Qualification: Bachelor of Technology Electrical Engineering
  • Allocation: 1

Community Services:

  • Required Qualification: Grade 12 for NC Environmental Practice Learnership
  • Allocation: 30

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask is essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Contractual Conditions:

  • Successful Internship applicants will undergo mentorship, skills training, and workplace assignments within various departments.
  • Non-permanent, 12-month employment contract
  • Successful Learnership applicants will complete the programme by attending classes, writing assignments, and tests.
