Job Description:
The primary purpose of this role is to physically safeguard DBSA premises, employees, visitors, and assets while utilizing available technology within the lot and adhering to the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and Health & Safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guard the DBSA against safety and security breaches.
- Maintain detailed incident reports and records.
- Monitor the movements of visitors, contractors, and assets on the lot.
- Conduct patrols and utilize surveillance equipment.
- Log irregularities and report system issues promptly.
- Monitor the Access control system and issue access control cards.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety procedures.
- Assist in securing property and assets during events.
- Liaise with emergency and health services for large events.
- Record all private assets entering the bank.
Key Measures/KPI’s:
- Conduct patrols according to procedures.
- Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations and PSIRA Act.
- Prompt reporting of security breaches.
- Professional conduct and presentability.
Expertise & Technical Competencies:
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric
- Grade ‘A, B or C’ PSIRA security officer’s certificate
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Security Officer
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with PSIRA regulations and qualifications.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Excel.
