POSITION: HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR
SALARY: R 171,537 per annum
LOCATION: Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital
CONDITIONS:
Minimum educational qualification: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) Grade 9 (Std7).
Experience: Applicable experience in cleaning/housekeeping services. Inherent demand of the job: Shift work, weekends, public holidays, and work in other departments.
Capabilities (knowledge/skills):
Administrative skills and effective delegation. Ability to perform routine structured tasks. Adherence to safety norms.
DUTIES:
Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards within the sanitarium. Supervise and manage the performance of the housekeeping team. Responsible for meal and beverage provision to patients and parents. Ensure effective communication, control, and coordination of housekeeping tasks in a health facility. Effective utilization of resources (physical and fiscal). Handle and dispose of domestic and medical waste. Manage and distribute linen stock as required. Implement correctional procedures and resolve conflicts. Assist with ad-hoc duties within the sanitarium.
