The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs is seeking proficient candidates for the Security Guard position in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Position: Security Guard Salary: R 147,036 Per Annum – Level 3 Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal Reference: 16/2024 (CS)
Requirements: Candidates should possess a minimum of Basic Education (Grade 8) along with an introductory security course.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Knowledge of access control procedures
- Familiarity with equipment and stores movement control measures
- Understanding of prescribed security procedures and the authority of security officers/guards
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Capability to operate security equipment
- Security consciousness skills
Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting access control functions
- Safekeeping premises and assets, preventing unauthorized entry or exit of equipment, documents, and stores
- Maintaining incident records
- Performing relief duties and attending drill processions
