Position Overview

The HR Officer will support the HR Business Partner by ensuring HR strategies and initiatives align with the overall business strategy. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, along with strong attention to detail. Additionally, the HR Officer will handle payroll processing in compliance with legislation and company policies.

Main Purpose:
Support the HR Business Partner and the business by ensuring timely statutory reporting and policy implementation. Enhance employee relations and wellness by monitoring and implementing EAP Programs.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Recruitment & Selection:

  • Regularly review all job specifications within the business.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process for all prospective staff.
  • Oversee the induction of new employees.

Skills & Talent Development:

  • Facilitate and implement training requirements in line with the WSP and ATR.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met by arranging FAIS Training for contact centre staff.
  • Manage the entire process regarding learnerships, acting as the point of contact between Providers, INSETA, Learners, and the Company.
  • Coordinate the sourcing, delivery, and evaluation of training according to the approved plan.
  • Book and roll out all training programs (Internships, Learnerships, Bursaries, and short skills programs) in line with WSP & ATR.
  • Ensure the Performance Development process is in place and followed.

Employee Relations:

  • Organize and facilitate Employment Equity meetings, including agendas and minutes.
  • Facilitate disciplinary hearings and prepare relevant documentation.
  • Advise management and staff on labour relations issues, including issuing warnings.

Remuneration & Benefits:

  • Handle the onboarding of new hires and offboarding of terminations.
  • Process all payroll administration using PaySpace.
  • Manage and monitor all employee benefits.

Business Transformation & B-BBEE:

  • Assist the HR Business Partner in coordinating BEE Scorecard requirements.
  • Ensure the BEE Scorecard tracking system is updated accurately for annual verification.

Regulatory Reporting:

  • Compile and submit the annual Employment Equity report to the Department of Labour.
  • Coordinate and record quarterly EE meetings.
  • Handle quarterly reporting for Stats SA.
  • Compile and submit the annual Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report.

HR Policies and Procedures:

  • Complete annual reviews and updates of all HR policies, ensuring they are signed off and communicated to all staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing of all HR-related information.

Qualifications

  • Matric
  • NQF Level 6 – Degree in Human Resources Management

Knowledge and Skills

  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience as an HR Officer.
  • Familiarity with various HR software systems (e.g., PaySpace).
  • Experience working within a high-performance culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
