Cure Day Hospitals is a dynamic and energetic company that is rapidly expanding with twelve operational hospitals. We are looking for a dynamic and energetic Receptionist and Admissions Clerk to join our team at Medkin, Pretoria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain customer service principles to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Manage the hospital telephone switchboard.
  • Effectively handle customer queries.
  • Open the hospital each morning between 5:30-5:45 and receive clients, patients, and visitors.
  • Contact patients to provide information regarding admission times and necessary documentation.
  • Accurately capture pre-admissions.
  • Ensure correct admission and discharge of patients.
  • Manage payments at Reception.
  • Assist patients in obtaining medical authorizations or quotations if needed.
  • Handle billing and finalize patient files.
  • Communicate with the theatre unit manager, ward Registered Nurse, and relevant doctors’ rooms regarding cancellations or additional patients.
  • File patient records as needed and arrange the transfer of files to Head Office.
  • Maintain and care for photocopiers, label printers, and computers in Reception.
  • Perform monthly banking.
  • Complete additional administrative tasks as requested by the manager.


  • Grade 12 and relevant qualification.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to work shifts as required by the facility.
  • A customer-centred mindset that acknowledges the value of the customer.
  • Solid knowledge and application of patient administration systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with people and be at the frontline.
  • Ability to plan and organize work efficiently.
  • Ability to identify and demonstrate company values.
