MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION Reporting to the Provincial General Manager, the Receptionist is responsible for projecting a positive image of the SABC and creating a welcoming environment for guests and the public.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
OPERATIONAL PLAN
- Liaising with guests
- Managing correspondence
- Easing access control
- Communicating with guests via phone and in person
GOVERNANCE, RISK, AND COMPLIANCE
- Ensuring authorized sign-ins
- Monitoring and easing caller access
- Recording access data accurately
- Furnishing correct information to guests and the public
ADMINISTRATION
- Performing switchboard duties
- Handling executive tasks such as sorting and dispatching correspondence/videotapes
- Managing boardroom bookings efficiently
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
- Representing SABC appreciatively through professional relations
- Handling telephone and in-person inquiries
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and callers
- Addressing questions and concerns instantly and professionally
INHERENT/MINIMUM CONDITIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12
- Event Course / Client Relations Course / Public Relations Course
- Computer knowledge
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of event experience
- Experience with different guests and communication styles
KNOWLEDGE
- People-oriented
- Interpersonal perceptivity and adaptability
- Interpersonal relations
- Problem-solving skills
