Core Purpose of Job:
- Provide cleaning services to maintain a clean and hygienic environment across academic and support areas of the university.
- Deliver excellent, professional cleaning services to scholars, staff, and visitors.
Key Performance Areas:
- Cleaning of university structures, venues, corridors, and outdoor spaces.
- General and deep cleaning of floors, surfaces, ablution facilities, classrooms, offices, and more.
- Occupational health & safety compliance.
- Collection and accountability of keys, cleaning consumables, and equipment.
Core Competencies:
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, techniques, and equipment operation.
- Understanding of strip and seal procedures, including carpet cleaning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective planning and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Physical fitness and adherence to minimum standards.
- Customer focus, flexibility, punctuality, and accountability.
Additional Competencies:
- Caring attitude and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and during non-standard hours.
Behavioral Attributes:
- Self-motivated, dedicated, with attention to detail.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 8 – 12.
- 0 – 12 months of cleaning experience in an operational or similar environment, with a proven record of collaboration.
