The Perishable Products Export Control Board (PPECB) invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Administrator based in Centurion, Gauteng.

Job Description:
The Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of administrative duties.
  • Coordinating the activities of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Delivering excellent service to customers.
  • Managing personal workflow and responsibilities.
  • Minimizing financial risks.
  • Performing statutory duties.
  • Implementing the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
  • Communicating and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion and filing of all source documents.

Job Requirements:

1. Qualifications:

  • Minimum qualification of Grade 12.
  • Qualification in office administration or business administration (added advantage).

2. Experience:

  • At least 1 year of administration experience in an office environment.

3. Key Responsibilities:

Technical Processes Implementation:

  • Registering samples using LIMS.
  • Acting as LIMS system administrator.
  • Collecting data for reports.
  • Creating Service Requests.
  • Creating Certificates of Analysis.


  • Participating in laboratory staff management review meetings.

Implementation of QMS (ISO 17025):

  • Implementing standard QMS protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Recording all non-conformances for further investigation.

Communication, Advising, and Reporting:

  • Reporting on irregularities in a timely manner.
  • Advising the quality manager on the achievements and shortcomings of Lab QMS (ISO 17025).
  • Ensuring effective communication and reporting to improve internal relationships and decision-making.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls.


  • Ensuring conformance to financial and control policies.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensuring meticulous typing of certificates.
  • Maintaining an implemented filing system and keeping records.

4. Knowledge Required:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

5. Skills Required:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound technical record-keeping techniques.
  • Strong organizing and planning abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
