Job Overview:
Ensure comprehensive customer service in the store by loading and merchandising stock, managing shelf price labeling, and maintaining housekeeping within your designated area of responsibility.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or a minimum of 1 year of related work experience
- Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language of the area
- Proficient in performing basic calculations
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Able to work under pressure
Job Description:
Customer Service:
- Acknowledge all customers and determine their needs
- Advise customers correctly on products
- Assist customers with product queries and complaints promptly
- Promote add-on sales (e.g., paint with paintbrushes, thinners, etc.)
- Ensure efficient customer service by loading purchases without delay and without damaging goods or the customer’s vehicle
- Inform customers about additional services such as delivery, bulk deposits, glass cutting, plan reading, credit programs, special orders, trusses, distant ordering, and the VIC Customer Programme
- Be certified in product knowledge and available in your area of responsibility
Housekeeping:
- Keep your area free of obstacles and ensure stock is merchandised promptly
- Maintain correct shelf price labeling within your area of responsibility
- Complete checklists as required when on duty, including canteen and toilet/shower schedules
Safety (OHSA) Requirements:
- Comply with safety requirements (e.g., use of safety gear) and ensure the safety of customers and staff within your area of responsibility
- Ensure racking and bulk stock are merchandised safely
- Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager
Ready for Business:
- Adhere to the “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” standards as per the Cashbuild Way
Loss Prevention and Security:
- Identify any gaps in displays, investigate causes, and report concerns to management
- Be aware of suspicious behaviors and report any suspicions to management
- Ensure no product is loaded for a customer without proof of purchase or required documentation
