Job Description
The General Worker will support team leaders and supervisors in various operational tasks, ensuring safety and efficiency on site.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team leaders and supervisors.
- Perform daily inspections of the designated area.
- Plan and manage tailings material on site and at the depositing area.
- Assist in solving operational challenges and report any deviations to the supervisor.
- Adhere to disciplinary procedures as per company policies.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations in accordance with legislation and company procedures.
- Extend and connect pipelines.
- Open and close valves in line with operational requirements.
- Take responsibility for personal performance.
- Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
Experience
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in an earth-moving or similar environment.
- Experience in tailings dam operations or in the mining industry for at least 2 years is advantageous.
Skills, Qualities, and Abilities
- Good communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizing abilities.
- Teamwork oriented and observant.
- Innovative and action-oriented.
General Requirements
- Understand relevant standard operating procedures.
- Medically fit to work in a mining environment.
- Must pass the mine’s criminal screening process.
- Willingness to work overtime if required.
- Valid driver’s license is advantageous.
