The South African Medical Association (SAMA) is inviting interested and qualified candidates to apply for the Finance Learnership Programme, which runs for 12 months.

Job Purpose:
The Finance Learnership Programme aims to facilitate all financial administration functions of the Association and ensure compliance with all financial and statutory requirements governing SAMA’s Finance Department. This includes ensuring that all financial transactions are promptly identified, analyzed, and recorded according to generally accepted accounting practices.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update accounting records by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions in the cash book and the general ledger.
- Balance accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintain bank account records and reconcile bank accounts.
- Respond to inquiries and requests regarding other bookkeeping duties of branches, following up to resolve errors and discrepancies as per established procedures.
- Assist in the preparation for audits and the production of financial statements, budgets, and other financial reports by providing related documentation, preparing various accounting summaries and reports, and compiling statistics.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Matric with Accounting and Mathematics
- Accounting Degree/Diploma/Certificate

- Computer skills (Excel and Office)
