CWI: Electrician and Instrumentation Mechanician Apprentices

Apprenticeship Programme

Consolidated Wire Industries (Pty) Ltd invites applications from young, dynamic South African individuals to be trained for three years as Electrician and Instrumentation Mechanician Apprentices.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Learners who wish to be considered for the apprenticeship must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Technical Matric): Must have passed Mathematics and Physical Science with a Symbol E (40% pass mark) or higher.
  • Current Grade 12 Students: Must be taking Mathematics and Physical Science as year-end examinable subjects. Final results must confirm achievement of a Symbol E or 40% pass mark.
  • National Certificate: Vocation 4 (NCV 4): Currently registered at a Further Education and Training (FET) College. Final results must confirm achievement of a Symbol E or 40% pass mark in both Mathematics and Engineering Science, along with two trade-related subjects.
  • National Technical Certificate (NTC3): In possession of Engineering Science at NTC3 level with a 40% pass mark in both Mathematics and Engineering Science, plus two trade-related subjects.
  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the Republic of South Africa.

Selection and Appointment

Candidates will undergo a comprehensive selection process which includes:

  • Tests
  • Interviews
  • Medical examinations
  • Reference checks
  • Verification of qualifications

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Certified copies of completed qualifications or confirmation of current year registration (on official school letterhead)
  • Latest school report
  • National Technical Certificate (NTC3) or FET College statement of results
  • Proof of registration
  • Certified copy of ID

Application Procedure

Internal Applications

Interested employees should submit their CVs to the Training Department by Wednesday, 3rd July 2024. Only CVs that meet the minimum requirements will be considered.

External Applications
