Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality Internship Programme 2024

The Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality is excited to announce the Internship Programme for 2024, inviting unemployed graduates to apply for a 24-month internship period. This programme is designed to offer valuable work experience and enhance the skills of the participants, making them more competitive in the job market.

Available Internship Positions

1. Finance Interns

Reference Number: FI-07
Number of Posts: Eight (8)
Department: Budget and Treasure Office
Duration: 24 Months Contract
Location: Groblersdal, Limpopo
Stipend: R100,000.00 per annum (Excluding Benefits)

Qualifications:

  • Education: Grade 12
  • Degree: National Diploma/Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Public Finance, Internal Auditing, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Skills: Computer Literacy (MS Office)

Experience:

  • Requirement: No work experience required

Knowledge and Scope of Work (KPA):

  • Revenue Collection and Billing
  • Budget Planning and Implementation
  • Financial Reporting
  • Assets Verification and Maintenance of Assets Register
  • Implementation of Supply Chain Process and Regulations
  • Expenditure Management and Internal Control

2. Public Relations Intern

Number of Posts: One (1)
Department: Executive Support
Duration: 24 Months Contract
Location: Groblersdal, Limpopo
Stipend: R10,000.00 per annum (Excluding Benefits)

Qualifications:

  • Education: Grade 12
  • Degree: National N Diploma/Diploma/National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing Management, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Skills: Computer Literacy (MS Office)

Experience:

  • Requirement: No work experience required

Knowledge and Scope of Work (KPA):

  • Communication Management: Ensure that communications across the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality are well-coordinated, effectively managed, and responsive to the diverse information needs of the public.
  • Internal and External Communication: Provide internal and external communication services, public relations, and events management.
  • Information Dissemination: Provide the public with timely, accurate, clear, objective, and complete information about its policies, programs, services, and initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Ensure all the directorates of the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality work collaboratively to achieve coherent and effective communications with the public.
  • Communication Requirements: Identify and meet internal and external communication requirements when planning, managing, or reviewing policies, programs, services, or initiatives.

Application Process

The closing date for applications is 26 July 2024 at 16:15.

Applicants must submit the fully completed and signed official “Application Form for Employment Staff Members Post(s),” which can be downloaded from the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality’s website at www.eliasmotsoaledi.gov.za or obtained from the HR Office. The application must be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae with proven experience, contactable references, and competency requirements of the posts. Registration with a relevant professional body, if applicable, is required.

Applicants must disclose the following:

  • Full details of any dismissal for misconduct or substandard performance.
  • Any disciplinary actions, whether pending or finalized, instituted against the applicant from current and previous employment.
  • Recently certified copies (not older than 3 months) of academic qualifications (Grade 11/N2, where applicable; Matric Certificate; National N Diploma/Diploma/National Diploma/B-Tech Degree/Bachelor’s Degree) and certified Identity Document (ID).
