Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Gate Receptionist to be based at Hluhluwe and Imfolo, KwaZulu-Natal.

The Entity

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife is responsible for nature conservation management within the Province of KwaZulu-Natal, including protected areas, as well as the development and promotion of ecotourism and facilities within these protected areas.

Purpose of the Job

To execute gate reception duties effectively and efficiently in line with hospitality standards, providing accurate information about facilities, activities, and events of the resort to maximize guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Education: Grade 12 (mandatory)
  • Additional: National Certificate/Skills Programme in Hospitality Reception or equivalent (mandatory)

Experience

  • 1-2 years in a hospitality or customer service environment (mandatory)

Key Performance Areas

  • Resource Management: Care for organizational resources.
  • Billing: Ensure billing accuracy as per the tariff structure.
  • Visitor Authorization: Ensure only authorized visitors access Ezemvelo reserves and facilities.
  • Customer Service: Greet visitors courteously, attend to their needs, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform all gate administrative and financial tasks.
  • Visitor Data: Capture visitor identification and data accurately.
  • Transactions: Execute point of sales transactions accurately.
  • Voids: Ensure voids are carried out according to standard operating procedures.
  • Visitor Direction: Direct visitors appropriately.
  • Complaints Handling: Address guest complaints and feedback effectively.
  • Exit Permits: Check guests’ exit permits and rectify any errors.
  • Reporting: Collate and complete daily, weekly, and monthly visitor statistics.
  • Cash Handling: Conduct daily cash-ups and inform the supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Communication: Liaise with main office staff regarding daily operations.
  • System Maintenance: Report faulty systems to management promptly.
  • Value Promotion: Promote Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife values.
  • Call Management: Handle incoming calls and radios appropriately.
  • Reception Area Maintenance: Ensure the reception area is clean, neat, and tidy.
  • Promotional Items: Maintain a neat and tidy display of promotional items and monitor stock levels.

Accommodation

  • Work Hours: Flexible in response to gate operational requirements.
  • Housing: Staff housing may be provided at a nominal rental when available.
