Gold One Gedex Project is a gold mine located in Brakpan, in the East Rand, east of Johannesburg, in the Gauteng Province.
Qualifying Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the position:
- Grade 12: or equivalent qualification.
- Code 10 License with PDP: (not negotiable).
- Experience: 1-3 years in a trackless mining environment is essential and required.
- Dover Test Results: Must have results in A or B or will be submitted for Dover Testing.
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills.
- Citizenship: South African Citizenship.
- Criminal Record: Clear criminal record.
- Medical Fitness: Must be declared medically fit by our OHP.
Responsibilities
- Transport and Collection: Transport and collect packages to and from destinations.
- Punctuality: Arrive at destinations on schedule.
- Administrative Needs: Fulfill administrative needs, like office pickups.
- Planning: Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays.
- Payments and Receipts: Collect payments and issue receipts.
- Navigation: Use navigation applications to determine the best route.
- Road Conditions: Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay current on road conditions.
- Route Adjustment: Adjust the route to avoid heavy traffic or road construction.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the vehicle safe and clean.
- Car Service: Schedule regular car service appointments and report any issues.
- Machine Operation: Ensure that the machine is in good operating order and report any faults and inconsistencies to the Supervisor and Control Room.
- Instruction Adherence: Always take instructions from the Supervisor responsible for the area/workplace.
- Standards Compliance: Manage and maintain in area of responsibility by mine standards, procedures, and practices.
- Safety Standards: Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold One’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”
