Role and Responsibilities
At Intercare, our receptionists are the first point of contact for our patients and are integral to creating a welcoming environment. As a receptionist at our Woodburn branch, you will be responsible for:
Providing Professional Customer Service
- Efficient Telephone Services: You will handle incoming calls professionally and courteously, ensuring that patients feel valued and understood.
- Patient Assistance: Guide patients through completing necessary forms and ensure all information is documented accurately and in line with our internal policies and procedures.
- Reception-Patient Journey: Manage the entire reception process, including booking appointments, patient arrivals, and payment processes using the relevant systems.
Ensuring Patient Confidentiality
- Compliance with POPIA: Safeguard patient information at all times, adhering strictly to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) regulations.
- Neat and Tidy Reception Area: Maintain a clean and orderly reception area to promote a professional and welcoming environment.
Handling Emergencies and Queries
- Emergency Protocols: Refer all emergency cases promptly to the nurse’s station following established protocols.
- Basic Account Queries: Assist patients with their account queries and escalate issues when necessary.
- Payment Collection: Collect co-payments and account balances in accordance with Intercare’s policies and procedures.
- Daily Cash-Up and Banking: Execute daily cash-up and banking processes diligently.
Requirements for the Role
To excel in this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum Qualification: Grade 12.
- Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer-focused environment, such as reception, will be advantageous.
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to efficiently use computer systems, with experience in the GoodX system being beneficial.
