Position Overview

  • Position: Clerk of Works – Intern
  • Duration: 6 Months
  • Location: Weza Sawmill, KwaZulu-Natal
  • Closing Date: 12 July 2024

Role and Responsibilities

As a Clerk of Works Intern at Weza Sawmill, you’ll become an integral part of our team, contributing to the meticulous observation, monitoring, and reporting of construction site quality and progress. Your role will be vital in ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest standards of excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure construction works are carried out according to specifications and standards.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of construction activities, ensuring timelines are adhered to.
  • Reporting: Compile detailed reports on site activities, highlighting any issues or deviations from plans.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

We’re seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Educational Requirements: A valid matric certificate and an NQF Level 5 or higher qualification in electrical, mechanical, civil construction studies, or a similar field.
  • Work Experience: Previous experience working on a construction site is essential.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Office Packages, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
