Robben Island Museum is inviting interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Research Administrator Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the Heritage & Research Department of one of South Africa’s most iconic heritage sites.
Position Details
- Position: Research Administrator Assistant X1
- Salary: R7,332.63 per month
- Duration: 12 months fixed-term contract
- Location: Robben Island Museum, Cape Town
Job Responsibilities
- Data Collection: Conceptualize and plan the data collection process for women Ex-Political Prisoners.
- Database Construction: Develop a shareable database framework to store collected data.
- Appointment Scheduling: Arrange appointments for research of datasets and other resources.
- Documentation: Document the entire research process meticulously.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Unemployed graduate or prior work experience in Library Science, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent telephone manner and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English and at least one other official language spoken in South Africa.
- Driver’s License: Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
- Travel: Ability to travel away for 4 weeks at a time.
