The Overberg District Municipality is pleased to invite unemployed individuals to apply for positions in the Information Data Collection Survey – Municipal Health Services under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP).

Position Details

Position: Information Data Collection Survey – Municipal Health Services
Remuneration: R150.00 per day
Closing Date: July 19, 2024

Contract Period

The work opportunities within the Directorate: Community Services, Department: Municipal Health Services will be available from August 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024.

Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) Opportunities

The Overberg District Municipality has multiple EPWP work opportunities in various locations:

  • Hermanus: 4 positions
  • Bredasdorp: 2 positions
  • Napier: 1 position
  • Caledon: 4 positions
  • Swellendam: 2 positions

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Open to unemployed and unskilled women and men, including youth (18 years and older)
  • Education: Grade 12
  • Skills: Computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications)
  • Persons living with disabilities are encouraged to apply
  • Documentation: Certified ID documents, proof of bank details
  • Health: Good physical health
  • Literacy in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
  • Ability to read and write

Responsibilities and Duties

The selected individuals will be responsible for collecting various data for Municipal Health Services functions such as:

  • Food Safety Premises: Ensuring the safety and hygiene standards of food establishments.
  • Surveillance of Premises: Monitoring and inspecting various premises to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Disposal of the Dead Facilities: Managing and overseeing facilities that handle the disposal of deceased individuals within various wards.

About EPWP

The Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) is a poverty alleviation initiative in cooperation between the National Government and the Overberg District Municipality. It provides temporary work opportunities to the unemployed, aiming to equip them with valuable skills and experience.

All applications must be submitted using the prescribed Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) application form for Database Registration. This form is available on www.odm.org.za, and hard copies can be obtained at ODM offices. Completed applications, along with certified copies of required documents (ID and bank details), should be returned to:
