Role and Responsibilities

Purpose Statement

As a Bank Better Champion, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our branch activities. Your primary responsibilities will include welcoming clients, managing the branch flow through efficient queue functioning, providing excellent client service, and assisting clients with ATM transactions and remote or self-service channels. This role will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for service consulting within the banking sector.

Core Duties

  1. Client Interaction
    • Greet and welcome clients, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere.
    • Assist clients with their banking needs, offering guidance and support for ATM and self-service transactions.
  2. Queue Management
    • Monitor and manage the branch queue to ensure efficient client flow.
    • Address client queries and direct them to the appropriate service points.
  3. Service Consulting
    • Gain comprehensive knowledge of Capitec Bank products and services.
    • Provide clients with information and advice on banking options tailored to their needs.
  4. Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions.
    • Ensure compliance with Capitec Bank’s policies and procedures.

Experience and Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum: No prior experience required, but a Grade 12 National Certificate is essential.
  • Ideal: Some client service experience in a retail, financial, or banking environment is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational.
  • Ideal or Preferred: Additional qualifications or certifications relevant to banking or client service.

Knowledge

  • Minimum:
    • Basic mathematical skills.
    • Ability to engage effectively with people.
    • Clear understanding of personal career aspirations, ambition, and eagerness to learn.
  • Ideal:
    • Familiarity with bank branch environments.
    • Knowledge of Capitec Bank’s products and internal business processes.

Skills and Attributes

Communication Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities are crucial for interacting with clients and colleagues.

Computer Literacy

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook is essential for daily tasks and reporting.

Interpersonal and Relationship Management Skills

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members.
