Aspen Effects invites South African graduates to apply for the SED Graduate Programme for 2024/2025. This 12-month contract is designed to develop skills in Social Economic Development (SED) activities and is located in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Programme Objective

The SED Graduate Programme aims to develop the selected graduate’s skills in SED activities, with a strong focus on making meaningful contributions to the communities where Aspen operates. Under the guidance of an experienced CSI Manager, the graduate will receive comprehensive training and gain exposure to various departments within the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) team, as well as other business areas.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the SED team, the graduate will be responsible for:

  • Processing payments for SED initiatives and programs.
  • Coordinating with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices and tracking of expenses.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all SED activities.
  • Providing administrative support, including report preparation, file management, and event organization.
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings and events related to SED activities.
  • Assisting in drafting and proofreading documents, such as reports and presentations.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure effective coordination of SED initiatives.
  • Performing other administrative tasks as needed to support the SED team.
  • Attending meetings, generating minutes, and distributing actionable points to stakeholders.
  • Preparing simple reports as needed.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Education: Matric/Grade 12 with a degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or Finance.
  • Skills:
    • Interest in social responsibility, community development, or philanthropy.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues and key business associates.
    • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Sense of urgency for deadline-driven tasks.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment.
