The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the Aspirant Prosecutor Programme, a 12-month training programme starting in March 2025.

Requirements:
- Qualifications: Complete LLB degree or equivalent foreign qualification (with SAQA accreditation). Final year LLB students may apply if their degree will be completed before the programme starts.
- Employment Status: Applicants must be unemployed, have no legal experience, and must not have participated in any Practical Vocational Training for legal practitioners.
- Eligibility: Open to South African citizens only. DOJ&CD and NPA permanent employees who meet the requirements may also apply.
- Skills: Demonstrable competency in acting independently, professionally, and with credibility.
Duties:
Successful candidates will undergo a 12-month training programme, including formal assessments to determine competency for appointment as a prosecutor. Candidates must adhere to the Code of Conduct and Policy Directives issued by the National Director of Public Prosecutions. The NPA reserves the right to place successful candidates at any office in the country. Refusal of a placement offer will result in contract termination.

Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and other relevant documents. - The programme will commence on March 1, 2025. All successful candidates must be available to start on this date; no late starts will be allowed.
