About the Role
Polkadot Digital, a small agency based in Riverclub, Johannesburg, is seeking a motivated intern to join our marketing and website team. We are looking for a recent university or college graduate with a degree in Marketing or a related field. This role involves managing social media and assisting our website department with client site maintenance.
The ideal candidate should be ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of digital marketing by the end of the internship.
Key Responsibilities
You will learn to:
- Create content for clients’ social media platforms.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of social media campaigns, offering insights and suggestions for improvement.
- Respond to comments and direct messages on social media platforms (community management).
- Manage and set up social media paid advertisements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in social media.
- Create content, including blogs and email newsletters.
- Support the marketing and web teams with various tasks.
- Conduct digital marketing research.
- Assist with basic WordPress website updates, such as uploading products and blogs, and modifying images and copy.
- Help prepare monthly reports for our clients.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Skills:
- Proficiency with major social media platforms and management tools.
- Knowledge of WordPress (advantageous).
- Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Deadline-driven with strong time management skills.
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Innovative, organized, self-managed, and proactive.
