Warehouse Controller

What You Will Do
The main purpose of the job is to manage and control all functions within the parts warehouse.
Reporting: This position will report to the Parts Manager.
Receiving/Inbound
- Ensure and oversee the receiving of goods according to Volvo procedure.
- Ensure that all parts are received accurately against documentation and within the prescribed time as set by KPI standards.
- Timely record all discrepancies on the GDS system when parts received do not conform to standards and documentation descriptions and part numbers.
- Ensure that parts are binned according to system allocations and not label allocations.
Outbound
- Process all customer orders requests, ensuring correct picking, packing, and distribution of parts according to Volvo procedures.
- Ensure the system is updated after authorization.
- Ensure the correct parts and quantities are dispatched as per invoice.
Binning of Parts
- Oversee binning of parts in correct bins.
- Confirm correct bin allocation as per the GDS system.
Credit Notes
- Ensure that credit notes are checked and signed off for processing. File all credit notes in sequence and store them.
- Follow correct procedures when processing credits, e.g., no electrical parts are returned.
Perpetual Stock Counts and Bin Verifications
- Ensure perpetual counts are done daily as per set quantities on the total volume of the warehouse.
- Conduct thorough investigations when discrepancies occur.
- Investigate and authorize all adjustments before updating the system.
Housekeeping
- Ensure warehouse premises (inside/outside) are always neat and tidy.
- Ensure parts are stored correctly and binned properly.
- Ensure waste is collected timely.
- Ensure perimeter security.
Exchange Parts
- Ensure parts from customers meet the agreed exchange standards (See Manual).
- Responsible for physical receiving and storage.
- Prepare supplier/core returns.
- Ensure packing and labelling of core parts for return to PDC.
Deliveries
- Control deliveries to customers and ensure proper route planning and scheduling.
- Ensure drivers adhere to company rules and regulations regarding the use of company vehicles.
Health and Safety
- Ensure all warehouse personnel abide by the rules and regulations set aside in the Volvo procedures regarding health and safety.
Qualification & Job Experience
- Must have Grade 12.
- Diploma in Warehouse Management or a minimum of three years warehousing experience.
