CETA Internship Programme 2024/2025
The CETA Internship Programme 2024/2025 aims to address youth unemployment by offering both professional and general internships. These programmes are designed to provide valuable work experience and, where applicable, opportunities for professional registration.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will be involved in various tasks, including:
- Performing entry-level administrative tasks for the unit.
- Handling correspondence, inquiries, and maintaining unit records and files.
- Providing administrative support for the unit’s budgeting process.
- Assisting with information gathering for audit preparations.
- Helping with data collection and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
- Carrying out tasks as delegated by supervisors and managers.
- Preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes.
- Assisting with the preparation of at least one presentation per quarter or as needed.
- Engaging in rotational planning to ensure exposure to different tasks across various divisions.
Intern progress will be formally reviewed at the end of each quarter.
Core Competencies
Interns are expected to develop the following skills and knowledge:
- Understanding of CETA as a corporate and public entity and the broader SETA landscape, including its purpose and mandate.
- Relevant theoretical knowledge related to the specific department or unit in which they are placed.
- Basic understanding of regulatory laws and frameworks, such as the Skills Development Act (SDA), PFMA, Tax laws, BBBEE, Employment Equity, and Affirmative Action.
Entry Requirements
To qualify for the CETA Internship Programme, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen under the age of 35 with a valid South African ID.
- Hold a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- Not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship programme.
- Not have been previously employed.
- Submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a motivation letter.
- Provide certified copies of their ID and academic qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications Considered
- ND in Business Management / Project Management
- ND / BTech / Degree in Office Administration / Accounting / Public Administration / Business Administration
- ND in Management Assistant / Administration or equivalent
