Job Description
The Cleaner will report directly to the Sales Manager at CCBSA Rustenburg. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the cleanliness of designated work areas, following the methods and schedules provided by the Supervising Officer in line with the company’s cleaning specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Empty and clean waste bins or similar containers and transport waste to collection points.
- Sweep floors with brushes or dust control mops.
- Mop floors using wet or damp mops.
- Vacuum carpeted areas and perform spot cleaning when necessary.
- Operate electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to clean, polish, and treat floors after receiving proper training.
- Operate electrically powered pick-up machines.
- Work at heights using high-level cleaning equipment when required.
- Dust, damp wipe, wash, or polish furniture, windowsills, ledges, cupboards, and shelves.
- Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels in line with standard operating procedures.
- Clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, showers, and drinking fountains.
- Perform deep cleaning of ablution areas and drains.
- Assist with gardening tasks, including weeding, lawn mowing, and pruning trees and shrubs.
- Use chemical agents in cleaning tasks as directed, following proper instructions and training.
- Wash walls and clean windows (exterior) within height limits.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required in line with the job’s overall function.
Additional Responsibilities
- Report any work-related issues to the supervisor or team leader.
- Be flexible with cleaning locations according to the establishment’s needs.
- May be required to work alone or in teams and possibly at different locations within the establishment.
- Occasionally train colleagues on the job.
- Ensure courteous and professional interactions with colleagues and visitors, contributing to a welcoming environment.
Skills, Experience & Education
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12/Matric qualification.
Experience:
- Previous experience in an FMCG environment is ideal.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
