Job Description
Signature Cosmetics is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented General Warehouse Assistant – Packer to join our team in Edenvale, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment, ensuring accurate handling, packing, and replenishing of stock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Inspection: Verify that all received products are sealed according to required standards, and check for any leakages or expired packages before placing stock in the appropriate bin location.
- Stock Replenishment: Replenish stock following established stock handling principles (front to back, top to bottom, left to right) and according to pack size, following FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation procedures.
- Product Condition: Ensure that all replenished products are in a clean, saleable condition.
- Reporting Issues: Report any damaged packages or stock concerns to the line manager.
- Stock Counting: Participate in cycle and stock counts to maintain accuracy in inventory management.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to achieve group goals and attend team meetings.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean work area, ensuring it’s tidy and free from waste before the end of each shift.
- Stock Handling: Handle stock in accordance with signage such as “this way up” and “handle with care.”
Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 qualification required.
- Product Knowledge: Knowledge of cosmetics and fragrance products is beneficial.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in picking, packing, checking, replenishing, and dispatching stock in a warehouse environment.
- Inventory Management: Experience with cycle counts and stock-taking processes.
- Computer Literacy: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is essential.
