Road Traffic Management Learnership Programme 2024
The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management is inviting unemployed South African youth to apply for its 36-month Road Traffic Management Learnership Programme. This programme offers an exceptional opportunity for young individuals to gain the necessary skills and experience to work in the field of traffic management.

Programme Overview
The Road Traffic Management Learnership Programme is aimed specifically at unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 35 living in the North West Province. The programme’s goal is to provide participants with professional training and hands-on experience in road traffic management over a period of three years.
Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R3000 for the full duration of the learnership.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Age: Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Education: A Grade 12 certificate or Vocational National Certificate Level 4 is required (statements of results will not be accepted).
- South African Citizen: Applicants must have a valid RSA Identity Document.
- Police Clearance: A Police Criminal Clearance Report (dated within 3 weeks of submission) obtained from the South African Police Services is mandatory.
- Medical Report: A medical report from a registered health professional must confirm that the applicant is physically fit to engage in rigorous training.
- Driver’s License: A valid Code 8, 10, or 14 driver’s license is required (learner’s licenses will not be accepted).
- No Tattoos: Applicants must not have visible tattoos.
- Proof of Residence: Proof of residence must be obtained from the Municipality or Traditional Council (statements of account will not be accepted).
Important Notes
- Applicants who have previously participated in a public service learnership programme are ineligible.
- Candidates who will be over 36 years of age at the time of enrollment will not be accepted.
Application Process
Applications must be submitted using the official Z83 form, which has been updated and is required for use as of 01 January 2021. It is crucial that the form is fully completed, signed, and dated. Incomplete submissions or incorrect forms will result in disqualification.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following along with the completed Z83 form:
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), including at least three referees with current contact details. The CV should also list relevant qualifications.
- Copies of the applicant’s identity document, driver’s license, police clearance report, medical report, and proof of residence.
Important Application Guidelines
- Applications with post-matric qualifications, such as short courses or skills development programmes, will not be accepted.
- All required documents must be submitted by the closing date. Late applications will not be considered.
- Faxed or emailed applications will not be accepted.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further selection processes, which may include interviews at a time and location determined by the department.
- The department reserves the right not to fill the positions.
- Successful candidates will undergo a qualifications verification and security clearance.
