About the Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Social Media Fellow to join our dynamic team, reporting to the Head of Social Media. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about social media, health, and natural products in South Africa. You will learn the ins and outs of social media marketing with a focus on health-related topics, contributing to our growing online presence.
Key Responsibilities
As a trainee, you will be trained and guided to develop the following skills:
- Social Media Content Collaboration: Learn how to work with the design team and marketing department to create and execute monthly content strategies.
- Channel Management: Master the use of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram by adapting content to each platform for maximum engagement and audience reach.
- Content Scheduling: Use tools like Sprout Social to schedule posts and manage content distribution across all social media channels.
- Data Analytics: Develop your skills in analyzing social media performance through platforms like Facebook Insights and Sprout Social. Learn how to track, monitor, and report on engagement and reach.
- Community Management: Nurture and grow online communities by managing user interactions, fostering engagement, and creating a positive atmosphere on our social media platforms.
- Stay Updated: Keep informed about the latest social media best practices, trends, and emerging technologies to ensure our strategy remains cutting-edge.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
To succeed in this role, you will need the following:
- Communication Skills: Strong English oral and written communication skills with a friendly, warm, and approachable style. You will need to communicate effectively both within the team and with external audiences.
- Social Media Proficiency: A solid understanding of Facebook Business Manager and social media management tools such as Sprout Social, Buffer, or Hootsuite.
- Copywriting: Learn how to create compelling and engaging content that resonates with our target audience.
- Project Management: The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Forward-thinking: A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and innovate.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media tools is essential.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
- Additional Advantage:
- Short course in Social Media Marketing.
- Qualification in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.
