This programme is designed to provide recent graduates with practical experience in the finance sector, specifically within the local government, over a period of 24 months.

Internship Details

• Position: Finance Intern
• Reference Number: MLM/JD/FINT
• Salary: R100,000.00 per annum
• Contract Duration: 2 Years Fixed Term
• Department: Budget and Treasury Office

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Educational Qualifications:
  • Must have completed Matric / Grade 12.
  • Must hold a three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with majors in Accounting, Finance, Internal Auditing, Risk Management, or Economics.
• Demographic Criteria:
  • Applicants must belong to a previously disadvantaged group.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years old.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are residents of the Bizana area.
• Technical Skills:
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to speak at least two languages spoken within the Municipality’s jurisdiction.

Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Intern, the selected candidates will be expected to:

• Work within the Municipality as part of their learning experience.
• Participate fully in all required learning and work experiences as outlined by the internship programme.
• Adhere to workplace policies and procedures set by the Municipality.
• Maintain detailed records of workplace experiences through daily logs or other assessment tools provided by the Municipality.
• Attend study periods and theoretical sessions provided by the education and training provider.
• Complete and maintain a professional portfolio of evidence in line with the internship guidelines.
