Job Description:
As an In-Service Trainee at AECI Water, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing qualitative and quantitative chemical and microbiological analysis on various samples, including record keeping
- Producing written reports on laboratory work performed
- Ensuring that laboratory reagents and consumables are maintained at optimal levels
- Maintaining and arranging maintenance for laboratory equipment and instruments
- Collaborating with senior analysts and the Development Chemist on projects
- Investigating methods where problems are identified and developing new methods as needed
- Familiarizing yourself with laboratory safety requirements and operating in accordance with these practices
- Preparing reagents for the Customer Services Laboratory
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum requirement: National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Microbiology
- Strong computer literacy
- Previous laboratory experience, with an understanding of analytical procedures, test methods, and analysis performed in the lab
- Familiarity with the following practices and procedures:
- Laboratory safety standards
- Understanding of ISO procedures related to company operations
