Programme Overview
AFGRI Farmer Development (AFD) invites eligible candidates to apply for the 2025 Learnership Programme. This opportunity provides a comprehensive learning experience focused on farming with crops and animals. Learners will be placed at the Vastfontein Farm in Pretoria North for the 12-month duration of the programme.
This learnership is designed to provide participants with hands-on training, both on and off the farm, helping them develop the practical skills and knowledge needed in the agricultural sector. The programme is open to all, with strong encouragement for individuals from historically disadvantaged backgrounds to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain practical farming experience by fulfilling various roles on the farm.
- Work with a cross-functional team to meet learning objectives and contribute to project work.
- Participate in on-the-job and off-the-job training under the guidance of experienced farm staff.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must have completed Grade 12 or possess an equivalent qualification.
- Must be unemployed at the time of application.
Programme Duration
Successful applicants will sign a fixed-term, 12-month contract with AFGRI Farmer Development. They will be stationed at the Vastfontein Training Farm in Pretoria North for the full duration of the learnership.
