The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) is inviting applications from qualified candidates for its 12-month Graduate Internship Programme. The available positions are detailed below:
Position: Graduate in Training – Human Resource Management
- Location: PRASA Head Office – Umjantshi House, Johannesburg
- Department: Human Capital Management
- Duration: 12 months
- Reference: HR GIT 18/10/2024
- Salary Group: Sector Regulated Allowance
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualification: National Diploma in Human Resources Management (NQF6)
- Experience: No prior experience required. Candidates will undergo a selection process and, if successful, will be placed accordingly.
Key Responsibilities (KPAs):
- Provide administrative support
- Coordinate performance agreements
- Capture and report personal development plans (PDPs) to support skills development
- Assess and evaluate the registration and accreditation of learning programs
- Facilitate staff induction programs
- Compile quarterly reports on PDP achievements and skills development
Training & Knowledge:
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of HR legislation and frameworks
- POPIA compliance

Position: Graduate in Training – Engineering

Minimum Requirements:
- Qualification: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light or Heavy Current) or Mechanical Engineering (NQF 6)
- Experience: No prior experience required. Selection and placement follow a formal process.
Key Responsibilities (KPAs):
- Provide technical support
- Assist in planning and managing project schedules and work plans
- Utilize engineering systems and standards
- Support project design and development
- Ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations
Training & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with PFMA, OHS, Labour Relations Act, SABS, NOSA, RSR regulations

Minimum Requirements:
- Qualification: National Diploma in Business Administration or Paralegal (NQF6)
- Experience: No prior experience required. Selection and placement follow a formal process.
Key Responsibilities (KPAs):
- Provide administrative support
- Ensure adherence to governance and compliance
- Assist with written business communications
- Organize and facilitate Board and Committee meetings
