The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) invites applications from qualified, unemployed South African graduates for the 2024 Graduate Internship Programme, which offers practical experience and career development opportunities.


Programme Overview

The Graduate Internship Programme in the Corporate Education and Voluntary Compliance Division is a 12-month internship at CIPC’s Sunnyside Office in Pretoria. This programme is part of CIPC’s commitment to youth skills development, providing work-based training aligned with the intern’s field of study and supporting government goals for employment.


Eligibility Criteria

  • South African Graduates: Must hold a degree or diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Unemployed Graduates: Should not have prior work experience in their field of study.
  • Age Requirement: Must be between 18 and 35 years old.

Internship Details

The programme provides graduates with hands-on work experience to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting, enhancing their skills and workplace competencies.


Minimum Requirements

  • Field of Study: Communications
  • Qualifications: Three-year Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following:
    • Digital Communication
    • Media Studies
    • Communications
    • Journalism
    • Public Relations
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Must be a South African citizen.
    • Successful candidates will undergo criminal and qualification verification checks.
    • Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), if applicable.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews as scheduled by CIPC.
  • An assessment test may be part of the recruitment process.
