About the UCT Lung Institute
The UCTLI, situated on George Street, Mowbray, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Cape Town. It is internationally recognized as a leader in airway disease research, having conducted over 150 research projects.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience: Prior cleaning or housekeeping experience
- Skills: Familiarity with cleaning machinery and products

Key Responsibilities
- Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas and public spaces
- Manage and monitor the stock of consumables, replenishing as necessary
- Maintain health and safety standards, reporting any hazards promptly
- Assist with moving equipment within the facility
- Contribute to recycling and composting initiatives
Additional Information
- Part-time role with flexible working hours (recorded on a timesheet)
- Based at the UCT Lung Institute, Mowbray
- 6-month fixed-term contract
