Purpose of the Job

As a Customer Service Consultant, you will provide remote support to Post Office/Consumer Services staff, Postbank customers, and prospective customers through various communication channels such as phone, email, and social media. This role involves managing inquiries, resolving complaints, and assisting with banking functionalities, including Electronic Fund Transfers, while maintaining high customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls across multiple communication channels.
  • Assist Customer Service Clerks with account queries and resolutions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients at all levels, handling complex inquiries professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain a 100% knowledge base and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Deliver zero complaints and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Treat clients with integrity, respect, and honesty.
  • Support other sections as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education:
    • Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 (Mathematics/Accounting advantageous).
    • Diploma in Financial/Banking/Call Centre Operations or related field (NQF Level 5) is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2 years in a Call Centre or Banking environment.
    • Financial Services experience is an added advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Other:
    • Bilingual fluency is advantageous.

Knowledge Areas

  • Banking legislation (FAIS, FICA, etc.).
  • Excellent planning, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
