The Wits Health Consortium is inviting suitably qualified and interested individuals to apply for the Data Capturer position within the Key Populations Programme (FSW) in Makhado, Limpopo.

Main Purpose of the Job

To accurately and efficiently capture patient and research study data into both electronic and manual databases.


Key Performance Areas

  • Receive participant files from clinicians for data capturing.
  • Identify and address missing data, inconsistencies, and errors.
  • Accurately capture confidential research information.
  • Compare data entries with source documents and make corrections as necessary.
  • Consolidate duplicate patient files (both electronic and manual).
  • Update patient demographics and blood results received from the laboratory.
  • Maintain effective and organized filing systems for participant documents.
  • Distribute daily, weekly, and monthly data reports to relevant team members.
  • Generate required donor reports.
  • Provide general administrative support, including copying, faxing, filing, and archiving.
  • Actively participate in monthly M&E team meetings and relevant training sessions.
  • Ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, and productivity in all tasks.
  • Demonstrate accountability, effective self-management, and career development initiative.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 with basic computer and typing skills (essential).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in data capturing or administration.

Desirable Attributes and Abilities

  • Strong administrative skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database packages.
  • Attention to detail with a methodical and systematic approach.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining strict compliance with protocols.
  • Proven speed and accuracy in data capturing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
