Position: Security Guard (Protection Services)
Location: Kruger National Park

South African National Parks (SANParks) is seeking qualified candidates for the Security Guard position within the Protection Services Department at Kruger National Park. The successful candidate will report to the Security Supervisor and play a critical role in ensuring safety and security within the park.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Minimum Grade C, D, and E Security Certificate with valid PSIRA registration.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a Security Guard.
- Proficiency in operating security equipment.
- Knowledge and awareness of wildlife crime.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong ability to enforce security protocols and secure park premises.
- Must be physically fit and will undergo a fitness assessment.
- Excellent situational awareness to detect suspicious activities.
- Knowledge of first aid.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Firearm competency and experience with firearms will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the security of the park, infrastructure, and visitors, responding to emergencies and suspicious activities.
- Conduct access control at entry and exit points, allowing only authorized personnel and vehicles.
- Maintain records of visitors and staff entering the park.
- Perform random vehicle searches to prevent illegal activities.
- Conduct patrols to detect unauthorized entry, trespassing, or tampering with park property.
- Provide crowd control and assist in securing public events or gatherings.
- Report any unusual incidents or security breaches to the Security Supervisor or Protection Services Manager.
- Assist in other security-related duties as assigned.
