Role Overview
Successful candidates will support farm operations by performing hands-on tasks, operating and maintaining farming equipment, and following safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general farming duties as instructed by management
- Use and maintain equipment and tools properly
- Complete manual labor tasks under supervision
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 qualification and/or relevant experience in a fruit farming environment
- Prior experience in harvesting tropical and subtropical fruits is advantageous
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices and tools
- Ability to operate manual farming equipment (e.g., brush cutters, chainsaws)
- Good communication skills
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Remuneration & Employment Terms
- Competitive market-related salary
- Appointment subject to positive security clearance
- Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups, in line with the ARC Employment Equity Plan
- Contract position; permanent appointments are subject to a 6-month probation period
