About the Role
First National Bank (FNB) is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to fill the role of ATM Custodian – Self Service. This role is based in Gqeberha / Port Elizabeth and offers a chance to join a dynamic team that values innovation, customer service, and operational excellence.
As an ATM Custodian, your main responsibility will be to maximize the profitability and uptime of ATMs under your care by ensuring optimal performance and strict adherence to the bank’s service standards.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- NQF Level 5 qualification
- Valid driver’s license (no endorsements)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in ATM maintenance
- Strong numerical and cash-handling skills
- Basic technical knowledge of ATM devices
- Ability to self-manage and remain motivated
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high ATM uptime and availability in line with performance targets
- Reduce ATM/ADT cash discrepancies reflected on the business unit’s general ledger
- Meet Balanced Scorecard profitability objectives
- Maintain cost control across operational expenses (e.g., mobile usage, vehicle, overtime)
- Provide first-line and after-hours support as per a 7-day standby schedule
- Monitor and report on vendor performance (SBV, BTYES, BMS, Diebold, etc.)
- Conduct monthly inspections on cash levels, alarms, and cleanliness of devices
- Adhere to all compliance, governance, and audit requirements
- Manage personal development to enhance skills and overall job performance
