Position: Driver / Sales Assistant

What This Role Involves
As a Driver / Sales Assistant, you will support the daily delivery and distribution of products, while also assisting with key customer service tasks such as collecting payments and returning trays. This position plays a critical role in ensuring smooth, timely, and accurate deliveries to our retail customers.
You will be working closely with a Driver/Salesman, and together you will be responsible for maintaining high levels of efficiency, professionalism, and customer satisfaction during every delivery run.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Accompanying the driver on scheduled delivery routes
- Delivering products to stores and retail outlets in a safe, timely, and respectful manner
- Assisting with the accurate collection of cash payments and issuing receipts when required
- Returning and accounting for empty trays or packaging as applicable
- Helping to maintain delivery records and ensure all transactions are properly documented
- Supporting the driver with navigation, stock checks, and other logistical tasks
This is a customer-facing role that requires energy, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility. You’ll be representing Premier FMCG on the ground, so we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and who values delivering excellent service.
Minimum Qualifications
- Matric
- A valid Code 10 driver’s license is advantageous, especially if you also hold a Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
(Note: While you may not be driving in this position full-time, having a valid license increases your flexibility and growth opportunities within the company)
Experience Requirements
While this is not a senior-level position, some prior experience in similar environments will definitely give you a competitive edge. We’re especially interested in candidates who have:
- 1–2 years of experience in the FMCG sector, ideally in delivery, merchandising, or sales assistant roles
- A proven ability to work in a pressurised and fast-paced environment, where time management and accuracy are key
- Familiarity with delivery schedules, customer service procedures, and handling of cash and stock
- Experience working within a structured route or logistics plan is a bonus
