Job Overview
Sibanye-Stillwater is looking for qualified Security Guards to join its Protection Services team. Applicants must have Grade C PSIRA registration, a Grade 10 (NQF 2) qualification, and meet the necessary medical and security clearance requirements.
Minimum Requirements
✅ Medically fit for the position (based on a risk-based medical assessment)
✅ Successfully pass a security screening and clearance
✅ Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a vehicle
✅ Firearm competency certificate issued by SAPS
✅ Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a high-risk security environment
✅ Grade C PSIRA registration
✅ Grade 10 (NQF 2) qualification
Advantageous Qualifications
✔ NQF 4 (Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)
✔ Certifications in crowd control management, tactical firearms training, defensive & restraint techniques, and advanced driving skills
✔ Certified competency in handling handguns, shotguns, self-loading rifles, or carbines for business purposes
Key Responsibilities
Patrolling & Guarding
✔ Protect Sibanye-Stillwater assets, employees, and visitors through patrolling, access control, and surveillance
✔ Inspect buildings and infrastructure for security risks and address them accordingly
✔ Conduct random and dedicated patrols on foot or by vehicle as required
✔ Provide first-line response in cases of crime or security threats
Access Control
✔ Ensure only authorized employees, contractors, and visitors gain access to company premises
✔ Conduct security checks and searches on personnel and vehicles in line with security protocols
✔ Maintain a professional, customer-friendly security presence
Reporting & Administration
✔ Report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the Supervisor
✔ Record security incidents and actions in the SPS Crime Administration System (CiMMS)
Stakeholder Relations
✔ Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Financial Management & Cost Savings
✔ Support cost-saving and cash conservation initiatives
