Job Overview
The University of the Free State (UFS) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for three permanent Cleaner positions at the Qwaqwa Campus. The successful candidates will help maintain a clean and hygienic environment across university residences, following established protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise designated areas using the All-Care colour-coding system
- Use appropriate detergents, tools, and techniques for each area
- Maintain and sanitise cleaning equipment; report any faults to the Housekeeping Manager
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety standards, including the correct use of PPE
- Prepare residences for conferences (clean rooms, make beds, manage linen)
- Perform weekend and event-related cleaning duties as scheduled
- Report maintenance and pest issues promptly
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 (NQF Level 2)
- Relevant experience in general cleaning tasks
Recommendations
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience using a colour-coded cleaning system
- Certificate in colour-coded cleaning (attach a copy)
