About the Role
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) invites applications for two (2) Administration Clerk positions in the Travel Administration unit, based in Pretoria.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential
- No prior experience required
- A post-matric qualification (NQF Level 5) – Advantageous
- Knowledge of:
- Administrative and clerical procedures
- Financial and procurement processes
- BAS and LOGIS systems
- Relevant departmental policies and prescripts
Key Responsibilities
- Administer fruitless and wasteful expenditure (no-shows/late cancellations)
- Obtain and analyze weekly reports from travel agents
- Advise officials on corrective actions to avoid recurrence
- Distribute no-show lists to relevant Deputy Director-Generals (DDGs)
- Verify and record travel accommodation payments
- Maintain accurate records and update payment details
- Compile and submit weekly/monthly no-show and cancellation reports
- Forward invoices to supervisors for review
- Reconcile BAS payment advice with supplier statements
