Saldanha Bay Municipality invites qualified, experienced, and committed individuals to apply for the following positions in the Community and Operational Services and Finance directorates:
1. Supervisor: Parks & Sportsgrounds (Hopefield)
Directorate: Community & Operational Services
Department: Area Engineering
Salary Scale: T8 (R232,114.20 – R301,298.16 p.a.)
Estimated CTC: R383,160.01 p.a.
Requirements:
- Grade 10
- Valid Code C1 driver’s license + valid PrDP
- 1–2 years’ relevant supervisory experience in parks and open space maintenance
- Proficient in at least 2 of the 3 official languages of the Western Cape
Key Duties:
- Supervise maintenance staff
- Handle admin and driving duties
- Tree trimming, lawn mowing, weed killer and fertilizer application
- Maintain parks, sports fields, and open spaces
Competencies:
- Problem solving, people and task management
- Communication, safety awareness, resilience, planning and organising
2. Foreman: Sewer Pump Stations (Langebaan)
Salary Scale: T9 (R261,323.40 – R339,214.32 p.a.)
Estimated CTC: R421,063.57 p.a.
Requirements:
- Grade 10
- 3–5 years’ experience in water and sewerage networks
- Valid Code EB or C1 driver’s license with PrDP
- Proficient in 2 of the 3 official Western Cape languages
Key Duties:
- Supervise water/sewer maintenance teams
- Operate and maintain valves, pumps, and systems
- Perform general maintenance on water supply and sewer pump stations
Competencies:
- Team leadership, OH&S awareness, customer service, planning, problem solving
3. General Assistant: Roads & Stormwater (Langebaan & Hopefield)
Salary Scale: T3 (R128,938.56 – R151,469.28 p.a.)
Estimated CTC: R248,835.55 p.a.
Requirements:
- Grade 8
- 6–12 months’ relevant experience in roads/stormwater maintenance
- Preference given to local residents
- Basic communication in at least 2 of the 3 official languages of the Western Cape
Key Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance work
- Follow basic instructions and operate simple tools
4. General Assistant: Public Open Spaces (Langebaan)
Salary Scale: T3 (R128,938.56 – R151,469.28 p.a.)
Estimated CTC: R248,835.55 p.a.
Requirements:
- Grade 8
- 6–12 months’ experience maintaining public open spaces
- Preference for Langebaan residents
- Basic communication in 2 of the 3 official languages
Key Duties:
- Maintain public parks and open spaces
- Operate equipment and assist with landscaping
5. Relief Cashier / Clerk
Directorate: Finance
Department: Revenue
Salary Scale: T8 (R232,114.20 – R301,298.16 p.a.)
Estimated CTC: R383,160.01 p.a.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Accounting
- 2–5 years’ relevant experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Valid Code B driver’s license
- Good communication and customer service skills
Key Duties:
- Serve as cashier or enquiry clerk at finance offices
- Handle municipal payments and account queries
- Reconcile daily cash and prepare deposits
- Apply debt collection and credit control policies
- Supervise staff when acting as Senior Clerk
Competencies:
- Service orientation, financial accuracy, attention to detail, data analysis
- Ethics, teamwork, leadership, technology use, customer focus, communication
