SANParks: General Worker Positions (Agulhas National Park)
The South African National Parks (SANParks) is seeking applications for three (3) fixed-term General Worker positions at Agulhas National Park in the Western Cape.
Key Details:
- Position: General Worker (x3)
- Location: Agulhas National Park, Western Cape
- Duration: 3-year fixed-term contract (ending March 2028)
- Salary: R136,583.09 — R182,758.24
- Closing Date: June 6, 2025
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or NCV Level 4 certificate
- Advantageous: Previous experience in housekeeping, maintenance, or a similar role
- Basic general maintenance and storeroom management skills
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Physical fitness to perform tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Self-motivation, good time management, responsibility, and discipline
- Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
- Must provide own accommodation
- Advantageous: First Aid knowledge and a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning duties (rubbish removal, cleaning buildings, ablutions, accommodations, and surrounding areas)
- Assist with minor general maintenance tasks (buildings, roads, water supply, and infrastructure)
- Maintain terrain and gardens (mowing and general landscaping)
- Record and report maintenance issues in the maintenance logbook
- Clean and maintain vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment
- Assist with ad hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices
