The Truworths Stores Learnership is a structured, practical training programme that combines real-world retail experience with formal classroom learning. Learners will complete logbooks and assessments while working in-store, ultimately earning a nationally recognised qualification.

What You’ll Experience
As a learner, you’ll be cross-trained across various functions within the store, gaining well-rounded skills in the following areas:
- Sales and Customer Engagement
Learn how to interact with customers, assist them effectively, and meet their fashion needs with excellent service. - Visual Merchandising
Apply the Merchandise Business Plan (MBP) to ensure the store is well-presented, visually appealing, and aligned with brand standards. - Point-of-Sale (POS) Transactions
Gain practical experience in operating POS systems, processing transactions, and managing payment procedures. - New Account Applications
Assist customers in opening Truworths accounts and explain financial services offered by the store. - Stock Control
Monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and help prevent stock losses through accurate tracking and control. - Store Safety & Loss Prevention
Implement safety practices and procedures that protect customers, staff, and store merchandise. - Relationship Building
Build lasting relationships with customers through professional, friendly engagement that promotes loyalty.
Learners must complete a minimum of 120 hours of practical in-store training, along with assessments, to demonstrate their competence in key retail tasks.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the programme, applicants must:
- Have a minimum of Grade 10
- Be unemployed at the time of application

- Be confident with good communication and interpersonal skills
