About the Opportunity
The Free State Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport is seeking seven (7) reliable and hardworking General Workers for positions based in Bloemfontein. This role is ideal for individuals with basic education and experience in manual labour, maintenance, or support services.
Minimum Requirements
- ABET Level 2 or equivalent (as recognized by SAQA)
- Basic literacy and numeracy (ability to read and write)
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and gardening practices
- Ability to operate basic gardening tools and machinery
- Understanding of equipment maintenance
- Good interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Punctual, dependable, and customer-friendly
- Basic communication skills
Key Duties
- Perform general labour tasks as instructed
- Maintain cleanliness of buildings and surroundings
- Care for and safeguard gardening equipment
- Move furniture and office equipment when needed
- Remove waste, empty boxes, and clean up as required
- Assist in receiving and relocating goods and stock
- Report any damages or losses to tools or equipment
- Load and offload goods and materials
